Alloy Cast Steel Rolls ï Short Specification
Material Grade: Alloy steel (with Cr, Ni, Mo, Mn additions).
Hardness Range: 30 ï 45 HSC (generally lower than Adamite but higher toughness).
Tensile Strength: 700 ï 950 MPa (approx.).
Composition (Typical):
Carbon (C): 0.4 ï 1.4%
Chromium (Cr): 0.5 ï 1.5%
Nickel (Ni): 0.5 ï 1.5%
Molybdenum (Mo): 0.2 ï 0.6%
Manganese (Mn): 0.6 ï 1.2%
Microstructure: Pearlitic with uniformly distributed carbides and ferrite matrix.
Key Properties:
High toughness and strength.
Good resistance to fire cracking.
Suitable for heavy impact rolling.
Applications:
Roughing stands in Bar, Section, and Structural Mills.
Used where shock resistance and strength are more important than wear resistance.
